Bon Iver is up for a handful of Grammys, and frontman Justin Vernon appeared digitally in a commercial for the awards show, but the indie-folk icons will not be performing at next Sunday's ceremonies.

Though the boys were indeed asked to perform, there was a small catch: they had to collaborate with a more well-known act.
